Samuel F. West, Born Salvatore Francesco Vasta, was the oldest of Francesco and Anna's sons.
According to Ellis Island records, he came to America on March 2, 1907 at the age of 9, along with his mother,
sister Catherine, and brothers Mike and Charlie.
Sam grew up in Livonia Center, NY. He married Josephine Vallone and had four children: Ann, Frank, Anthony,
and James. After Josephine's death in 1961 he remarried Alice Callas.
Sam founded West Beer Distributors in 1936. Upon retirement, he sold the business to his son, Frank.
